A Bit of Context
The lies of the world run deep in our society and it isn't the first time this has happened. Since the beginning of creation, our pride has led us away from God's desire for us to live beautiful, flourishing lives. In Judges 21:25 it says, "In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes".
During the time of Judges, the people of Israel experienced trouble because everyone became their own authority and acted on their own opinions of right and wrong. This produced tragic results. Our world is similar. Individuals, groups, and societies have made themselves moral authority without reference to God. When people selfishly satisfy their desires, everyone pays the price.
People today are suffering mentally, and spiritually often leading to physical harm as well. This mirrors Proverbs 29:2 which says, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule the people groan". As a result, our longing for spiritual and mental health is clear but our generation is seeking the wrong places to fill this emptiness. Every area we look is fleeting, but here lies the good news.
The Good News
Despite our general rejection of God in North American society, God desires to have a relationship with us and rescue us from our pride, greed, addiction, anxiety, depression, shame and so much more. Salvation is like God’s rescue mission to set us free. He reaches out to us, even when we’ve strayed far from Him. Just as the judges were sent to rescue Israel, Jesus came to save us from our sins, sin is falling short of God's good plan for our lives. His sacrifice provides forgiveness, a fresh start, and a way out of our spiritual darkness. Salvation isn’t about our efforts—it’s about God’s grace and love, pulling us back from the brink of self-destruction.
God designed you, and you have inherent value because you were made in His image, not because of anything you have done. You were created to worship, and if you don't worship God, who is truly worthy of our praise, you will end up worshiping the things of this world, ultimately becoming a slave to them and never finding lasting joy. This is why our goal at Seek Truth Project is to follow the words of Jesus and help Canadian youth remember to, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8).
Next Steps
Remember that this journey does not eliminate all the pain of this world, but it provides a way through it and offers hope for the future. Also, keep in mind that you may have questions that do not have immediate answers. Rest assured that sufficient answers are available to you; be patient and continue to seek while trusting in God. In Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis wrote, "We have cause to be uneasy in our questions. But we are not alone. We are not the first to ask these questions, and we will not be the last." Many Christians before us have addressed the questions you are seeking answers to, so remain patient and continue to seek, even when understanding eludes you or when the journey is difficult. Here are some recommendations for where to start.
Ask Questions: Don’t be afraid to ask hard questions. Seeking truth is a journey, and there are people who would love to walk that journey with you, whether it's a friend, a pastor, or a church community.
Try Prayer: Start a conversation with God. You don’t need fancy words—just be honest. Ask Him to reveal what’s true, and to guide you as you explore.
Read About Jesus: The Bible, especially the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), offers a clear picture of who Jesus is and his teachings, we recommend a NLT study bible or an online bible like the bible app to get started.
